MAHJONG COMMUNITY TIPS FOR FINDING MAHJONG GAMES:

  1. If you don’t know somewhere to play near you or where you are visiting, a great place to search is the website Meetup.com.It is free to join and search. Use different spellings of mahjong (mah jong, mahjongg, mah jongg) when searching.
  2. Other members have found games by searching the Nextdoor app. Also, use different spellings.
  3. When searching on Google, great searches include separate searches using Mahjong, Mahjongg, Mah Jongg and Mah-Jongg and the following terms: 
  • instructors
  • classes
  • drop in
  • game
  • newcomers or newcomers club
  • the area you are looking for city, county, library, Temple, Church, community center
  • Institute for Learning in Retirement

https://www.flcseniors.ca/activities/mahjongOpen to all FLC Seniors Club members. Mah Jong is a challenging ancient Chinese  game played with domino like tiles  The FLC Seniors Mahjong Club plays every Wednesday afternoon (except Statutory Holidays) at the Trico Centre   We play the Japanese style but, if you are familiar with any style of Mahjong, you are welcome to join us as the basic rules for most styles are the same. This is a drop-in activity and limited to 8 tables. Mahjong will resume on September 1,2021. Location:  FLC Seniors Lounge - Trico Centre When:Every Wednesday afternoon - 1:00 to 4:00 Training: For new participants will be held in September. This Activity Runs Year Round (except for statutory holidays). Contact & Coordinator: Marge Bathgate at 403-305-4910 Contact by filling out this form(mahjong@flcseniors.ca) Please Note: You will require a current FLC Club membership to participate. Mahjongg at the Vancouver Jewish Community Centre,  Wednesdays, 1 to 3:30 pm. Members play for free. Non-members pay $4 for a single drop in or $30 for a 10 games day punch card (no expiry date). Mahjongg sets provided. Bring your own card. We are starting to compile an online resource to find Canasta games. Please email us city, state and contact information for games. Please do not include private home addresses. Email is preferred.
